Description of slitting knives:
A corrugator slitter or corrugated cardboard slitter is used to cut
corrugated cardboard into suitable shapes in preparation for
further processing. Fast positioning and precise cutting of slitter
scribers and blades at high operating speeds is very important.
Tungsten carbide or cemented carbide is the ideal material for
making corrugated slitting knives because of its toughness, wear
resistance and impact resistance, which can achieve high precision
cutting and long service life.
What is Tungsten Carbide (Cemented Carbide)?
Tungsten carbide is a mixture of tungsten carbide powder and cobalt
powder. Cobalt acts as a binder to hold the tungsten carbide grains
together. There are several processes for the production of
tungsten carbide, including wet grinding, drying, pelletizing,
press molding, HIP sintering, and sandblasting. Each material has
its own properties, thus determining the final properties of
tungsten carbide.
